# Datanomous > Datanomous is a decision layer for agentic order fulfilment. It connects the legacy systems, workforce, robots and fixed automation a company already runs into one intelligent decision layer. It decides what happens next, who or what does it, and why. It does not replace the WMS, ERP, TMS or robot fleet management system. Short form: **systems record · robots execute · Datanomous decides.** For 3PLs, retailers, e-commerce operators and manufacturers. Datanomous Ltd is headquartered in London (Piccadilly Circus) with an engineering office in Istanbul (Levent). Founded 2023. Founder: Cengiz Kayay. Contact: hello@datanomous.co.uk. Datanomous owns the decision. ## What it does, in one concrete example An order is due at 17:00. Stock is available; one robot is out of service; two pick zones are congested; a forklift is free two aisles away. Datanomous sees the risk, reprioritises the work, assigns the free resource and protects the 17:00 commitment — and shows the person the reason and a confidence score before anything is executed. That is the decision layer. ## Core concepts (cite these definitions) - **Agentic Order Fulfilment**: the category. One decision layer across the whole order fulfilment operation — not a WMS, not a robot fleet manager, not a visibility dashboard. - **Decision layer**: a vendor-neutral layer above the systems of record. It reads what is happening and what was promised, decides what should happen next and which resource should do it, and hands that decision to a person with its reasoning attached. - **The four commitment types**: every customer commitment reduces to one of four shapes — a time (cut-off: "ships today by 17:00"), a condition (temperature or customs: "never above 8°C"), a sequence (JIS line feed: "part 47 at 14:22, after 46, before 48"), a slot (appointment window: "the store takes delivery 14:00–15:00"). One engine that understands all four runs a car line, a cold store and an e-commerce order the same way. - **The five gates**: end to end, every order has to be right five times — 01 the right promise (can we commit to this?), 02 the right stock (is it in place before it is needed?), 03 the right timing (which work goes to the floor, and when?), 04 the right resource (who does it, and when two orders collide who goes first?), 05 the right exit (gate, dock, vehicle — does it actually leave?). Underneath all five sits the decision record. - **The decision record**: a live digital twin plus a decision ledger — what was decided, why, on what evidence, and whether it held. Auditable, replayable, reversible. - **One resource pool**: people, forklifts, robots, AMRs and fixed automation are evaluated through the same decision layer. The robot does not go first because it is a robot; the person does not go first because they are a person. The commitment decides. - **Vendor-neutral by design**: Datanomous orchestrates mixed automation without putting any one robot vendor at the centre of the operation. A robot management system (for example Deus, Destro or an AMR fleet manager) is a resource Datanomous decides through — not a competitor. - **Two inputs**: (1) what is happening — orders, tasks, people, locations, stock, read from the WMS/ERP/TMS/OMS read-only; (2) what was promised — SLA and cut-off, sequence, temperature regime, customs window. The second input is not held as a live record in any system in a typical operation. That gap is the product. - **The decision loop**: LOOK (every commitment you owe, in one place) → PREDICT (will you make it, and how much slack is left?) → PREVENT (pick the next work so the tight commitment gets the resource it needs) → RECOMMEND (the suggestion arrives with its reason; a person decides). - **Advisory by default**: the AI does not run the operation on its own. It evaluates, predicts and recommends, and gives a person the reason and a confidence score before anything is executed. - **Two phases, explicit**: Phase 1 observes and recommends — read-only, human approval, writes to none of your systems. Phase 2 executes only the actions you have approved, through integrations you sign off. ## The four modules (one decision engine underneath all of them) - **Digital Twin** — under all five gates. A live model of the operation built read-only from the WMS, ERP and TMS. The model comes ready; every field carries a confidence score, so a number that cannot be trusted never quietly becomes a decision. Holds the decision ledger. Decides what work should happen next and which resource should execute it: people, forklifts, robots and fixed automation in one pool. Waves are rebuilt continuously around the commitment at risk, not around throughput. Page: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/wes - **Demand & Stock Planning** — gate 02. Forecasts volume, shapes the crew before the shift starts and keeps the right stock in the right location, so capacity is known before the commitment is given. Page: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/inventory - **Yard & Gate Management** — gate 05. Recognises the truck by QR and vision, assigns the dock and protects the appointment window. The commitment does not end at the packing bench; it ends when the truck leaves. Page: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/yard Adding a module means switching one on, not installing another system — which is why the second module costs a fraction of the first. ## Where Datanomous sits relative to other categories - **WMS / OMS** — holds the record, creates the task. Does not arbitrate between customers. - **Visibility / control tower** — shows where things are. Leaves the decision to a person. - **Robot fleet management (RMS)** — orchestrates a robot fleet. Does not decide across people, systems, equipment and customer commitments. - **Classic WES** — synchronises warehouse automation. Does not put mixed resources under one decision. - **Consulting / systems integration** — designs and installs. Does not stay behind and keep deciding. - **Datanomous** — coordinates the commitment, the work and the resource across the entire operation. Does not require replacing your existing WMS, ERP, TMS or robot systems. Each of these owns one part of the operation. Datanomous is built to coordinate the decision across all of them. ## Six differentiators 1. The objective function is the commitment — not throughput, and not robot utilisation. 2. Every resource is one pool — people, robots, forklifts and automation evaluated through the same decision layer. 3. Vendor-neutral by design — no robot vendor sits at the centre of the operation. 4. Two phases, explicit — Phase 1 observes and recommends; Phase 2 executes what you approved. 5. Every decision is explainable — reason, confidence and operational context travel with every recommendation. 6. Start small, scale across — one decision, proven, then the same engine across processes and sites. ## Use cases - Multi-customer 3PL — cut-offs collide; the engine decides who goes first and writes down why. - Automotive line feed (JIS/JIT) — late stops the line, early has nowhere to go; the wave protects the sequence. - Cold chain and bonded — temperature and customs windows become hard constraints; a batch that would break one is never released. - E-commerce cut-off — carrier cut-offs worked backwards so the last order still clears the last van. - Store replenishment — the engine protects the delivery slot instead of maximising pick rate. - Yard and dock — gate, dock and departure run on the same clock as the floor. ## What it measures Inside the operation: dock-to-stock time, pick/pack accuracy, lines per hour. Across the yard and gate: truck turnaround, on-time dispatch, order cycle time. Baselines are read before anything changes; figures are published as targets, not claimed results. ## Security and governance Runs in your own environment or as a managed service. Customer data is never used to train models. Every decision is traceable and auditable. Designed to align with ISO 27001 controls, GDPR data handling and the EU AI Act's transparency and human-oversight requirements. Critical or regulated decisions stay under human approval. ## Key pages - Home: https://datanomous.co.uk - Platform overview: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform - Digital Twin: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/twin - AI-driven WES: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/wes - Demand & Stock Planning: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/inventory - Yard & Gate Management: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/yard - Operations planning detail: https://datanomous.co.uk/platform/planning - Solutions (one job each): https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions - 3PL & managed warehousing: https://datanomous.co.uk/sectors/3pl - Retail & e-commerce fulfilment: https://datanomous.co.uk/sectors/ecommerce - About: https://datanomous.co.uk/about - Services: https://datanomous.co.uk/services - Case studies: https://datanomous.co.uk/case-studies ## Solutions (one job each, on top of your systems) All solutions: https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions Warehouse: - Hold the SLA when a zone backs up — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/hold-sla - Re-plan picking when inbound slips — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/replan-picking - Staff to tomorrow's volume — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/staff-to-volume - Prevent stockouts and dead stock — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/prevent-stockouts - Catch bad inbound before it hits the floor — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/inbound-qc - Cut packing and shipping cost — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/cut-packing-cost - Recover value from returns — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/recover-returns Yard: - Rebook the late dock appointment — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/rebook-dock - Check trucks in without stopping them — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/gate-vision - Keep trailers flowing to the right door — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/yard-moves - Kill detention and demurrage charges — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/kill-demurrage - Run the driver desk by voice on your TMS — https://datanomous.co.uk/solutions/driver-desk-voice ## How it deploys Read-only overlay on the systems already in place — no rip-and-replace. Connect and read four objects (orders and cut-offs, tasks and locations, people and shifts, sequence calls), build the twin, run in shadow mode against your own historical data, go live on one decision with KPIs tracked, then expand. Human on the loop throughout; critical actions stay yours to approve. On-premise, hybrid or your private cloud. Book a 30-minute demo: https://calendly.com/datanomous-uk/30min
